Vol. 1 was recorded in my bedroom on Pearson Ave., direct to cassette tape (with EQ, compression, reverb done later). Like the other "Liquidity" releases, I'd mess around (improvise) until I came up with an idea, then record two or three takes. The sound sources are mostly electric piano or organ run thru a Korg MS-20 synth, with an appearance by an inkjet printer. Extending Hoover Party performance practice to the recording process meant lots of trying to do multiple things at once, bringing the true spirit of bureaucracy to the world of improvised and experimental arts. There are a few high tones in Track 6 that should probably have been EQed out.
